Unfurl is a series of paintings born out of the season of becoming - Spring. As the fields and woodlands around me began to wake from their winter sleep and the first leaves began to open, I found myself doing the same - unfurling into a new season of creativity.

Painting sunsets, trees, flowers and fields in the transitional weeks of early spring, this series captures a world on the cusp: stepping out of darkness and into light, out of stillness and into life.

It is a record of that tender, electric moment when everything - the land, the light and the self - begins to unfurl from its winter hibernation.

That sense of movement and energy lives in the brushwork itself. Swirling, expressive strokes carry through every painting in the series, echoing the almost vibrating energy of the world as it bursts into bloom.

Unfurl is, above all, a series made with joy - and made to give it.
