This piece captures a quiet moment at East Sands harbour in St Andrews, painted during my time studying there. The harbour, with its gentle rhythm of fishing boats and early-morning comings and goings has its own quiet charm.
I chose to paint this scene on a greyer day, with overcast skies brooding above the colourful houses that line the harbour shore.
