On the cusp

£250.00

Oil on canvas

80 × 30cm

A field on the cusp - this piece was painted in early April as the crops began to appear in the fields but the trees stayed resolutely bare.

Painted in thick impasto strokes, sections of this painting stand forth from the canvas. This piece is a richly painted celebration of the fields in spring and that moment as things begin to shift and the light begins to return. The view looks over towards Bough Beech reservoir which can be seen - a small patch of light blue - in the background of the composition.
