Confident from the first smaller study, I moved onto a bigger canvas, prepped with a bright orange background. I wasn't sure how the pink would sit against the fluorescent orange - but I started working anyway, quickly, capturing the flowers in the morning sunlight. This painting was made with a sense of urgency, fuelled by a need to depict what was in front of me before the light shifted.
